BUTTE — Early Monday morning, a man was found dead after sustaining an injury at his home, according to Butte Police.
Sheriff Ed Lester stated in a media release that the discovery was made at approximately 4:30 a.m. on Monday.
The release explained that the man incurred a severe arm injury after breaking a window at his residence. He reportedly left the house on foot, bleeding heavily.
Preliminary investigation indicates the man died from blood loss, and alcohol may have been a contributing factor, Sheriff Lester noted.
The man’s body has been transported to the Montana State Crime Lab for an autopsy. His identity is being withheld pending family notification.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional details will be shared as they become available. Sheriff Lester emphasized that there is no threat to the public related to this incident.
